BlephEx™

Why Use Blephex™?

BlephEx™, the newest treatment for blepharitis, is an in-practice procedure performed directly by the eye care practitioner.

Therefore, clinicians can now take an active role in treating blepharitis, instead of simply relying on the patient’s ability to perform semi-effective lid scrubs at home.

With BlephEx™, the clinician thoroughly and precisely eliminates the scurf and bacterial debris. These are the main causes of inflammatory lid disease.

Blepharitis Common Symptoms

Some of the common symptoms incude:

  • Itching or scratchy eyes
  • Foreign body sensation
  • Tearing
  • Crusting
  • Redness/inflammation
  • Mattering
  • Dry eyes
  • Eye rubbing

Blepharitis Common Symptoms

Properly performed, BlephEx™ will reduce or alleviate these chronic and debilitating symptoms in your patients.

Treatments are typically repeated at regular monthly intervals depending on the severity of the disease.

As a result of eliminating the inflammatory aetiology of blepharitis, the overall health of the eyelid is improved.

Furthermore, patients can then begin to produce more of their own tears. This lets them enjoy a life free from the chronic and irritating symptoms associated with blepharitis and its subsequent dry eye disease.

“BlephEx™ is a very useful addition to the lid hygiene / dry eye armamentarium. The device effectively clears debris from the lashes and lid margins and to my surprise contributes to down-regulating inflammation along with a subjective improvement in symptoms. I can only conclude that lid debris contains toxins that contribute to inflammation. BlephEx™ is an effective device for cleaning the lids and worth using in those who have accumulation of collarettes and debris."
